Trust In Marketing Is No Coincidence; It Is A Belief, A Conviction

Year after year, since the inception of television, there truly may be a couple
handfuls of really good commercials. You know, ones that not only entertain
but provide real information about a product that we use, not labor in want.
Most of the items we have lying around our homes are probably not
necessary to our lives.


Yet we were persuaded to purchase these due to an ad or on the recommendation of a
trusted individual. Now we have it; may have used it a handful of times; now it’s become
hidden due to our lack of interest. We are off to the next best thing.

Thank your local marketer for this because they effectively gained your trust, showed
you how you emotionally needed this item and convinced you to purchase it.
Were you hoodwinked?? NO! You wanted to purchase it……
you believed it would help you out.


So now are you a trusted confidant of that company? How many other products
made
by them do you own? More than one and yes, you have trust in the company;
trust in marketing from them.

And yet you do not use this product much anymore, if at all.


Sounds as though it was a successful marketing campaign.
It worked on you, so most likely it worked on others.

As an online marketer, we know that most people will not buy from us the first time.
They may even take 7-10 exposures before they do but ultimately it does come
down to the consumer; their particular desires, needs, wants, or even what
they think they don’t want but end up needing anyway.


A message is delivered in multiple ways; it becomes how it is received and when it is
received by the market. You don’t wake up, begin to believe that you need an item
to make it through the day (except that first cup of coffee). It is during the day that
you perform your activity, routine, and then see a commercial how you can make that
routine activity become easier.

“Purchase this today to provide you more time to do something else, than you can
purchase this item to make that simpler, but that will be tomorrow;
you need this today!”


Building a “depend on” mentality is what every company wants with their customers,
same as you do with yours. By building trust with one and then another and so on, you will
see repeat business. Repeat business means you can  do your part to help stimulate the local
economy because you can now purchase that item you have your eye on
(to make your day easier).

In your online marketing, your message must be geared toward your customers so they can
emotionally understand your product/service/program. They aren’t needing it, today, or even
wanting it until you explain it out so that they actually DO!


As a marketer, if you are growing, you are not learning. This is a daily process
and there are many tools in which you can employ to your advantage.

Your Internet Marketing Efforts Are Based On Building Trust

You know that your product or service is fantastic, why else would you market it? But you really need others to believe this as well otherwise your days in the game are limited. But people don’t really buy a product or service or program, they purchase due to the relationship that is built and this takes TRUST.

To build trust in marketing, patience is the key. It will not happen overnight. Online, these are tougher situations mainly because you are not shaking hands with the customers. The structure of your marketing message must reach out and shake their hands for you.


It may be the way you speak in your videos; it may be the structure of the words that you are writing, either way, you must understand that businesses are in the communication business. Your communication strategies are key in conveying the message the customers are hearing.

There are many theories on accomplishing this. Bottom line is that people purchase under two main circumstances; emotion or impulse. If your product or service is marketed under other highlights, you will be pushing a tractor up a long hill.

Your market is either in need of something that solves immediately or they are looking for your program to solve a long term issue. Which is yours? If you find that what you are marketing, be it a product/service/program, how will it improve their lives?


It is important that your words reflect this benefit. You want their emotions to be in the forefront when they come to read or hear what your offer is and why it benefits them even though they are not really looking to find that out right now!

If you are struggling to generate the correct message, it may be time to take a step back, re-examine the reason your product/service/program is there and how can you find the emotion that the market has. Or find a more correct emotion for you to tap into.


It takes knowledge to market regardless of the item and those that are beginning are not being shown the correct ways to get this message out. Why continue to struggle?

Your Market Requires Trust First To Take Your Online Marketing Further

With internet marketing it is important to choose your words correctly. Much of this can be accomplished through research but you will also need to develop a level of self trust.  The more you know about the people in your particular market and yourself, the better your chances.

Researching what your market wants will depend somewhat on the particular market you are in but ultimately, understanding how your market functions helps. Trust in marketing builds over time based on how you handle the people within. If you don’t provide them with quality information, information that they can put in place and be successful with, then how can they trust you or why should they purchase from you?


Internet marketers rely on so much information about the market they are in. Their products or services are generally very specific. These have specific benefits; be it a faster way to accomplish a task, improve their knowledge, simplify the process they are working on or make it simpler to understand their issues.

Do your campaigns recognize this fact? Say you are a beginning marketer and you have signed up for a program and now you are excited about getting the word out. With limited knowledge, what can you expect? How do you proceed?

If you are working online your first thought might be to speak about the company or product being offered. Maybe you think that the comp plan is the power; you signed on so why shouldn’t everyone else you speak with? Big mistake!

You must understand the differences in the visitors that were lucky enough to even find your information. Networking means interacting with others but if you only concentrate on a company or comp plan you will miss out on 3/4’s of your market. Not everyone is interested in the company or the product or the comp plan. There is a larger portion of your market that simply do not care.


Your biggest step will be to build trust within your market first by providing them with information of value. The first time someone comes across your website they are viewing it with a very critical eye. If you are not speaking to them on their level, they simply just move on and may never return.

Some marketers provide something relevant for free to try and capture them while others just speak about how this opportunity will make them rich. If you can determine a different aspect to getting your message into the visitors head, you may just have an opportunity to capture their interest. If they are interested, they just may begin to trust in what you say.

Trust in marketing is very difficult to provide. A product that is familiar has a greater chance of success but you will be competing with many others for the same customers. No matter what you are marketing, how you educate yourself will determine your overall online success.

To set yourself apart, spend as much time as you can gathering knowledge. Get as much knowledge about your market, your customers, your benefits, even yourself that you can. The more you know improves your options, your campaigns, your website and your words.


Knowledge in how you speak to your market is very critical. If you just intend to wing it – it may take you more time and money than you have leading to failure.
