What is ‘a company ‘?

What would your answer to that question be? My guess is that we could get millions of different explanations from so many different individuals depending of course, on their particular position within ‘a company’.

An owner might define a company as a group of people he/she put together to construct the better ‘mouse-trap’; management might define it as the sum of many parts that work for the owners goals, but completing them with their many ideas to make a profit; those that do most of the tasks may define it as simply a means to support their families.

These are just basic I realize, for a company may consist of one individual to several thousand. So many opinions which the internet would be hard pressed to store.

So have you written out your definition?

How many times would you refine it?

Okay, you were in a mid-level management position and toyed for months with a different method to doing the same function if the company was yours. You nursed this idea and finally, with a few vendors under your wing, decided to venture out and start your own company. Great, you are creating more jobs!

You hire several individuals to do the different tasks necessary to make the company function. Each of these hires is positioned under others, depending on the tasks they will perform and be paid. They report to one level of the company.

Meetings are held daily, weekly, monthly, every few months and yearly to define tasks, accomplishments, monetary advancements and strategies. These meetings are attended by several of the company personal necessary for the time line records.

Members report to superiors on completed tasks, sales reports and marketing strategies, etc. You know all those fun things that happen, in the company. Developing paperwork that defines each workers level of advancements, what must be accomplished to move up, targets to achieve and so on.

And in some companies, who must die before advancement occurs!?!

The hierarchy is set. This large group reports to these managers, who report to others, who report to still others, who report to some, and who ultimately report to the big guy. Here, let me draw this out……wait, it looks like a….
pyramid, yikes!

The company is a pyramid scheme???

The top people get paid much more than those below? If there is a bonus, the distribution is segmented from top down. Goodness, the people on the lower portion of this diagram aren’t doing as well. They will have to just work harder to move up; up this pyramid.

Horrendous!

But wait, isn’t this the structure of MLM and Network Marketing throngs that people are so SCARED about. My god, this is outrageous.

How despicable!

The difference here is each entry into a Network Marketing opportunity is getting paid the same amount as others that entered. The recruiters are being paid a bonus amount for bringing them in. The more introduced, the more they are paid. But in a company, the more that is done, maybe they were paid slightly more for their level of pay, but the bonus……

Network Marketers are enjoyable to debate, speak with, have a cup of coffee with and interact because they understand the purpose of communication and that it can be profitable. They understand that by helping others to achieve, they themselves achieve.

Yes I know, many MLM’s and Network Marketing opportunities have scammed people just like many companies have scammed their employees.

Where is the loyalty?

Bad apples exist in every barrel and if you want to complain about either instance, you can be negative on either side. Negativity is as much of our makeup as humans as communication is.

Generally, communication within a company is relegated to certain subjects, Network Marketing can converse about multiple subjects. The time line is not defined. Both require effort put forth to increase the success level, true, it is the responsibility of the individual to determine the security they want; someone else’s dream or their own.

When I hear the negative strikes against Network Marketing from those inside a company, I only smile as I wish them “best of luck” as I am walking on by. I have found much more positive energy with Network Marketers than ever existed in a company.
