LOOK BUT DON’T TOUCH

So has the unemployment situation hit you? I’m sure you know of someone
that lost their job or many that are fearing a loss. Our economy has hit a
massive wave of indecision and we see our ‘so-called leaders’ doing little to assist.
This concern grows on the citizens that can’t pull themselves away from the news.

It does not matter which party you are affiliated with or what movement –
what does matter IS what action you take. To sit idly by places
less food on the table, makes bills harder to pay or worse.

Unemployment figures today are not accurately portrayed due to the amount
of laid off individuals not even bothering to be in the ‘system’ since companies
are not hiring nor are the banks – that were bailed out by the citizenry -
loaning to assist businesses.

A recent statistic from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (July 2010) stated;

“Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rate for adult women
(7.8 percent) declined, while the rates for adult men (9.9 percent),
teenagers (25.7 percent), whites (8.6 percent), blacks (15.4 percent),
and Hispanics (12.4 percent) showed little or no change.
The jobless rate for Asians was 7.7 percent, not seasonally adjusted.”

WERE WE RAISED TO IDLE

When times are tough, it becomes necessary to look to other means
in which to survive. Opportunities come in many packages, however the
scared refuse to remove the wrappers. Continuously writing out a resume,
to write out a letter of hope, to fill out more paper work that finds
a file cabinet may seem like action, but is it really?

What is a resume anyway? Is it not a ‘self-promotion’ document?
We will not hesitate to write out our accomplishments and duties to ‘win’
another ‘trade my hours for dollars’ paper hoping that the lottery hits.
As humans, we have minds, ambition, ingenuity, common sense,
imagination, creativity, hobbies, interests and many other qualities
that if we take initiative, we can work for our future.

There are over 170,000 people that are utilizing the internet to find ways
to re-survive every day. Maybe they are looking for ways to begin working for
themselves or work from home by turning a hobby into a profit
generating action. Is that you?

If you have written a resume recently, you have participated in marketing;
the act of promoting yourself. Self promotion is no different than promoting
a product, a service or a program. The only difference is in the desperation
in which you act. And desperation is not the mood to be in regardless

is willing to educate themselves, allow themselves to be taught and desire to
begin working for their future. To better ourselves in these turbulent times
could just be the ticket to working for yourself.

I recently received my monthly version of Money magazine and as I was flipping through, I came across an article that spoke of great places to visit. They were touting 3 different locations that we all could travel to at reduced costs due to tourism traffic being down.

Those locations were Dublin, Ireland, Lanai, Hawaii and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Now Ireland is not on top of my list but Hawaii and British Columbia are and so I read with interest on the deals being discussed.

This led me then to do some comparison with the travel membership that I am a member of to see how we compared. I found these stats to be of real interest and thought I would share them with you so you can see the value we offer.

Even though I would not consider Ireland as a luxury vacation there are some reasons that I would like to visit. As a scotch drinker, Ireland provides many destinations to learn, partake and increase that particular knowledge base so let’s see what is offered.

Dublin, Ireland; located on the eastern coast was the articles’ choice. Their hotel was the “Merrion Hotel of Dublin” at a cost of $154/night. Not bad. You can get to many locations in Ireland from here to explore and do some fine scotch investigation.

The cost for seven nights is $1,078 and for 5 people, this equaled $215/person.

The comparable location we offer is in Wicklow, approximately 60 miles south of Dublin; sleeps 5 and would cost $699 for the week: $140/person. Not a bad savings and I could send several bottles of scotch back for later enjoyment at that cost.

The second location was Lanai, Hawaii. The article showed the property of the Four Seasons Resort Lanai and at $518/night (based on 4 people).

The cost for seven nights is $3,626 and for4 people, this equaled $906/person.

Granted we do not have a property on Lanai there are several on Maui (not far away) and for 4 people for one week the cost is $699 or $140/person. This type of savings can allow for many activities including a boat or plane ride to Lanai and spending the day exploring. Would that provide you a valued vacation?

The third location is Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The article describes the “Fairmont Hotel for $269/night again based on 4 people.

The cost for seven nights is $1,883 for one week or $470/person.

Again, this property is not available to us but the closest would be Banff, which is more appealing to me anyway and very close to Vancouver at the “Fairmont Vacation Villas” at a cost of $689 for one week, or $173/person.

In comparison, there are many reasons to be a part of travel memberships when the savings alone bring more value to any destination chosen. Can you see the value with just these 3 vacation comparisons? Just think of all the explorations you could do with these simple comparisons alone?

Again, value in vacation is not only in price comparisons but in the experience received and if you can keep your accommodation costs low, then there are so many other items you can add to your trip to increase the value received.

When it comes down to money, we are all slaves. It is needed to feed our faces; to provide a place to store our prized possessions; to allow us a trip or two to someplace warm to get a sunburn; to purchase more toys; to brag about the latest conquest. It does not matter the circumstance, money is what provides our “life-quality”.

Network Marketing has many flaws however it does provide the opportunity to get out of financial holes and provides a level of freedom not available in many jobs. It is important to note that if you do not know why you are marketing online, regardless of your program or product, there won’t be any real success.

Opportunities are presented daily if you are on any marketers list. Promotion after promotion after promotion. Everyone is trying to get into your wallet. You have put up your walls for many but somehow there are some that filter through. Then once you get involved, it again isn’t quite living up to the hype.

You’re in need of a purpose, one that provides a passion to achieve.

Internet Marketing takes time, patience and persistence. You must ‘WANT’ it to obtain it. Your mind is controllable but who is doing the controlling? You? Your family? Your boss?

Come on, you have to know. When you look in the mirror, what do you see? What do you say? Is that the leader you are recruiting? Because if it is not, how can you expect to build? That’s correct; it is about you and your message.

If you’re not providing a message that others can gravitate too, you’re not marketing, you are simply passing along information. Change that, and the sky is the only limit you can place on your efforts.
