Are You Living In An Information Igloo?

“If I knew what all this meant, my day would be over,
my dreams would be colorful.”
Has the latest email received suggesting how you need to hurry to a site to get this fabulous program that improves your marketing online, made you want to turn off your computer and run into a wall? It is amazing the amount of information one must digest in order to perform their marketing efforts more efficiently.
Have you purchased a program that promised you a world of income only to find yourself scratching your head wondering what the author is trying to say?
Information overload! It afflicts all of us from time to time. We don’t want to be left out of some fantastic idea, some new system that could automate our work and leave us more free time. The technological advances we have had seem to suggest we should be flying in cars and our work be completed by robots by now. IT’S THE 21st CENTURY!?!
Yet here we are looking at another program, its instructions walking us straight into another s&(%fan. One sentence leads to another without a real finish; finding ourselves more confused, frustrated and ready to quit. You end up feeling like you just finished reading the health care bill?!?
Surviving information overload requires a skill set not really taught. I blame it on the speed we have seen things develop over the past 20 years. Our televisions have multiple channels to choose; our telephones have multiple applications to employ; our bosses require us to do more tasks due to less employees on the payroll.
Feeling a little discombobulated?
“I’ve done so much today that I don’t know what I accomplished!”
Some would say that it simply means we must focus on one item before moving onto the next. A difficult option at best because life is moving fast and as Network Marketers or Affiliate Marketers, we want income generated fast. In the end it is not the next great thing that helps us, it is disciplining our actions.
Picture a plate full of different foods and being so hungry you don’t know which one to eat first so you dive in and before long, they all run together. The peas are mixed in with the potatoes; the gravy is running into the biscuits; the steak sauce is soaking into the jello; so we eat faster and faster to clean it all up.
Afterwards it is “plop, plop, fizz, fizz” to hopefully feel better.
Of course it would be extremely boring to put one item of food on the plate, eat it, then place the second, eat it, and so forth. But this way we would focus on one item at a time, finish the function before moving onto the next. Meal Done!
“I’m full.”
To survive the information overload concept, you first must except that you cannot read it all, do it all and finish everything on time. By compartmentalizing what we work on; segmenting those tasks into actions to accomplish in specific blocks of time, you can comprehend the information and be less stressed.
Options are simple; quit, procrastinate or take action. Where will your success lie?

Great tips! I agree that we’re often victims of information overload. With websites, blogs, twitter, email, cell phones, instant messaging, etc. it’s easy to have information coming at you from every direction. Working in specific time blocks is a great way to cope and get back on track.

Hello,I love reading through your blog, I wanted to leave a little comment to support you and wish you a good continuation. Wishing you the best of luck for all your blogging efforts.
It looks simple making money online and working from home. But lots of hard work, consistency and dedication needed in order to succeed to create constant income working from home. The reward is very handsome if the person is persistent and patient enough to see the result. At the end of the day, I feel that the fine line between success and failure of doing business online is dependent on the degree of the commitment of the person. If the person has a very strong “why” to succeed and put himself / herself on the line, I am sure the person will be able to reap the rewards after continuously working 12 to 18 months.
