A Marketing Message Can Be Included In Your Email Marketing Method

How often do you find yourself checking your email box? I know! It can become an unfortunate habit. And then it turns into a disappointment due to so many program/product offers, over and over. Where is the enlivenment? Where is the value?

Every day, a new release to take-my-breath-away and must be looked at, NOW; a guru peddling wares or shutting down a portion of their business model; ‘wanting’ to give this opportunity away to just fill up another list. Yikes, the email-river over-floweth!

I have been told that your list should hear from you several times a week, how does that make you feel? Some of the lists that I am on must believe that I should only hear their offer(s), daily. I am no longer on most of these lists.

I do believe in the importance of email marketing and you should be doing marketing by email. However, the email marketing methods chosen should be respectful of the recipient. If you provide them a 3:1 (minimum) ratio of quality educational content, then market your program/product, it would seem to me that your emails would be opened and read, or at least received with interest.


Direct marketing appears to mean directly into-your-face marketing. I have never bought something when it was forced down my throat. You?

Do I know the most effective way to do marketing by emails? No, not yet anyway. Most of the emails I send out do get read, some are acted upon but nothing fantastic. I won’t be writing a book any time soon on the email marketing methods one should employ.

But what I will speak of to anyone out there that is taking in this post is to understand what your marketing message is. The structure of your message must include an email campaign but should be respectful of the recipients. Place yourself in their shoes and if you don’t read sales-y emails, you should not be writing them to your list.


Your customers and those on your list should be spoken too with respect. Try to generate curiosity and interest in your marketing message. This is better accomplished by providing quality educational information that can be put to use, or by constructing a story that holds the audience.

One of the more effective email marketing methods I have seen employed was to write a story that spanned several emails. The recipients were waiting anxiously for the next installment to see the progression, which made for an exciting campaign.

It is my belief that by making your marketing message a respectful and artful use of the medium, the overall effectiveness can be overwhelming. More responsive action is our ultimate goal with any campaign and if you are able to increase interest with your email marketing method, you will increase the effectiveness of your marketing message and promotions.

So take the time to construct and plan your email marketing method. Intersperse your offer into a larger mix of informative emails. Allow your list to become more and more and more interested in what you have to say. Being captivated by how you are stating the message and you will be building a lasting fan base that will be receptive for years to come.

Instead of slamming them with this offer or that over their heads, be subtle. Place a link or two at the bottom of your email that directs them to your site that is cloaked. If does not require the “CLICK HERE NOW!” head-bash but could easily state your company name. Covertly!?!

Is Your Internet Marketing Message Simply A ‘Message In A Bottle’ within CyberSpace?

To get your marketing message across clearly to your market, it would be much more effective if we could just climb inside their heads. If we knew exactly what they think, when they think it, and what triggers each one to purchase, our campaigns would be widely successive each and every time.

No matter the amount of research you do for the demographic of your market, you will never be able to reach each one. It is simply impossible. The fickle brains of humans can not be trusted enough in determining success.

One day some within your market are just not receptive. They are not in the mood; could not care less about your fantastic product/program/service; then the next day they could be a raving fans and want to purchase every gadget you have. It is futile and frustrating on your part to try and determine this cycle.

Ultimately your best bet is to know your product/program/service well and structure your message in the best light. Don’t be wishy-washy or flimsy in this structure, for a “message in a bottle” floating in cyberspace is never read or acted upon.


This does not mean that you don’t do demographic research that is still critical, however, the more research time you spend on the benefits of what you are promoting and the keywords you will use, the better you will be able to structure your marketing message.

Your market, those that are ready to buy, are easily convinced with just a few benefits. These individuals are necessary to reach with your marketing message but in reality, you want to structure the tone, the words, the message, to those that are still sitting on the fence.

There will always be an ‘easy’ market, around 2%-5% that knows they want a product; a ‘never’ market, around 10%-15% that will never buy; leaving your marketing message targeting 80%-88% of those in your market. These are the determining factor to a profit margin.

These ‘fence-sitters’ aren’t necessarily ready to purchase; they don’t even know they need your product; they don’t even know your product exists; they are going to require convincing as to why they should even consider your product and if your message is structured correctly, they can now consider it.

This market group likely needs to be exposed to your promotion several times before they buy. So the key element of your message should speak to satisfying their wants, needs and desires. You will want to appeal to their curiosity side; making them curious about your offer and seeing immediately how it benefits them.


Persuasiveness is your best offense in structuring this message but by directing them to believe they actually are persuading themselves. Talents in writing a marketing message, either for ads, articles, blog posts, or even the script for a video are important.

Being able to find trigger words that extract emotion, curiosity, desire and wants will go much further with your message. This structure will hold their interest long enough for them to see that need, that want, that desire.

Find trigger words to utilize, impress upon them the positive benefits and how this product/promotion helps them today, but speak to them as though you are a trusted friend reiterating your satisfaction and they are coming to your side.
