If you have been on line for any amount of time as an affiliate marketer, Network Marketer or an aspiring one, you are afflicted with information overload. We all have it at many intervals daily. There are new programs for adwords, traffic generations, seo, blogging, motivation and how-to do this or that better coming at us weekly.

It’s those just-starting-out marketers that find this more daunting. They just don’t know what next to do, end up doing nothing, and then say the program did not work. It is understandable? Information comes at you from all directions, but you just can’t expect to put up a website, put some pretty pictures, videos and discombobulated text on it and expect to win the lottery.

What is Working Now?

John Burroughs stated,
“A man can fail many times,
but he isn’t a failure until he begins to blame somebody else.”

Surviving information overload is a constant practice. It takes discipline. You have to be vigilant in your actions; determined in your mind; purpose driven. There can be specific times to set aside where you can investigate the “next-big-thing” and if you are capable of properly scheduling your activities, your investigation of these new fangled contraptions can be done with less stress, less desire to own, and a more open mind as to its overall purpose.

This way the information overload syndrome is less taxing, less necessary to purchase or use, or worse, waste time on something that is not productive to your result-getting-activity currently needing to be focused on and completed.

If you are a new marketer or even an experienced one; are feeling overwhelmed and looking to the heavens wondering what next could possibly happen, you have three choices; quit, re-evaluate your scheduled efforts or, find assistance.

Quitting should not be an option, for success never came from quitting.

“Quitting is for losers.”

Re-evaluate your scheduled efforts works, with discipline.

“If it is written, it can be accomplished.”

Find a mentor that can assist you in overcoming the process.

“Assistance comes in motivation.”

Information overload will be a constant. The internet will see to it. You however have control over you and if you fall prey to constantly reading, looking, searching, wondering and not doing, surviving information overload becomes more and more difficult.

Recently, the Colorado legislators passed a law, referred to as the ‘nexus’ tax which basically states that an online affiliate marketer doing online sales here will be required to collect a ‘sales tax’ and pay to the state.

Amazon, a very respected and highly trafficked site for product purchases, recently informed all of their affiliates located in Colorado that their relationship with them was over. No more Amazon affiliates in Colorado.

This law, the Affiliate Nexus Tax, AKA the “Amazon tax”, currently is in effect in four states; New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island and now Colorado, can have a tremendous effect on any affiliate. Yes Rhode Island is in the process of repelling the law but there are 13 other states currently looking into enacting this ‘nexus’ law and Virginia is very near approving one.

Has Amazon taken a stand for us small affiliates?

Amazon has an ongoing battle with the state of New York on the unconstitutionality of this law. The encroachment philosophy currently permeating throughout our federal and state governments could absolutely kill our way of life as we know it.

Colorado followed other states by increasing taxes, eliminating a long standing “physical presence” standard of residing and conducting business locally and replaced it with a nebulous, arbitrary standard of “economic presence” (physical vs. economic presence is large when it comes to nexus).

“Once you have nexus in a state, you then have to be set up to collect and
pay sales tax in that state. And CA is going even further in
claiming they have rights to tax your income as well.”

California wants to go further stating nexus will apply should you employ the services of any independent contractor (virtual assistant, lawyer, coach, consultant), a state that is almost bankrupt.

We are being told that the rich need to pay more of their fare share. What! The truth is shown in the chart below:

If you are an Affiliate Marketer in these states, beware. You are under attack by incompetent, unmanageable money managers wanting more out of your pockets. Are you willing to continue to give and give and give to these crooks?

It is hard to imagine that we work hard to achieve our dreams, to assist as many people as we can to improve their lives just to have our own pockets picked to cover the woes of falsehoods preached to us. It is time to take a stand, educate the ignorant and engage more smart people to get our country back.
